Not pretty... but still entertaining
It was far from a thing of beauty, and the Senators only made a game of it for about 3 minutes. But it was still fun to watch.

The Senators managed to claw back into the game late in the second with a pair of quick goals to get back to within one. Good thing too because after the first few minutes of the game, it looked like the Senators hadn't shown up at all. But added pressure by the Flyers in the third period showed the fans why Philadelphia is currently the NHL's best team.
But did the Sens give up? No! It almost harkened back to old style hockey with the "Broad Street Bullies" with fight after fight in the third period. It reminded me of the old one-liner: "I went to a fight the other day and a hockey game broke out." It showed some spirit and some combativeness that I appreciated seeing in the Senators. Yes, they lost, but they weren't going to go meekly.
Most disappointing was the performance of Brian Elliott. There are quite a few he should have had last night, and he didn't. He didn't get much help from his D-men, but then again, this was the Flyers who roller-coastered the Senators with one scoring line after another. Most encouraging was Milan Michalek who has regained some of the scoring touch and speed that we hoped to get from him when he came over from the San Jose Sharks.
The Senators need to win one right now in order to maintain that combativeness. Continued losses will, I fear, have them deteriorate into a team that just shows up.
