Yeah...right...I'msure that's the reason...
Oft criticized winger Alex Kovalev has been put on the injured list to allow his recently repaired knee to recuperate. Yeah... sure... whatever...
Is it just me or do I feel some spinmeister's work in there? After a game where Kovie's defensive error likely cost the Senators a "must-win" game, he is sidelined with an "injury"? C'mon. Why not admit Kovalev is on a time-out? He's famous for getting them around this time of year.

To backfill the spot, Cory Clouston has not recalled AHL wunderkind Corey Locke, but rather Jim "Jimmy Who?" O'Brien. Not to throw a hissy fit here, but why the hell would you not give Locke a shot? Do we really want to sink the Sens this badly? Or is Locke slated for something else - trade fodder elsewhere perhaps? Not to say that O'Brien is a non-entity, but when your team is in trouble, you call on your best people.
Sometimes it is extremely hard to fathom the reasoning of the powers that be.
GO SENS GO!!
