Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone!! Yup, we're NOT politically correct on this blog, we celebrate Christmas, not Kwanzaa nor Eid. It's not a religious thing, it's just our winter festival and in my all-too Canadian psyche, it fits with hockey. Deal with it.

The goal of this short post (very short as there's a wild bunch waiting for their driver and "mule" for the obligatory Boxing Day shopping) is to say that I anticipate the Senators to climb above the .500 level soon. Wishful thinking? Perhaps. 'Tis the season after all and I'm in a good mood and looking on everything with a rosy quietude.
Cory Clouston had to teach some of his boys two-way responsiblity. Chief among these is Alex Kovalev, and while I'm unsure if that particular lesson will stick... He now has had to teach them offense again. I've recently seen a Senators team that is edging towards playing a better offensive game. Regrettably, it's been a series of "two-quick-goals-then-a-drought" type of game, but at least the Sens have kept their opposition on the defensive. I'm looking for Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza, Mike Fisher and Milan Michalek to start finding twine.
They weren't easy, walk-in-th-park type of teams either. The Senators do best when faced with a challenge, where they usually surprise the opposition with a few quick ones. This may work against the Penguins today, with "may" being the operative word. Be that as it may, the recent Sens games were a step in the right direction, and encouraging more offensive thinking is the way to go.
Because in the end, defense doesn't score goals, offense does. And the winner is the one that scores more than the other.
GO SENS GO!!
