Battle for the top

The Ottawa Senatros and Boston Bruins face off for the top spot in the Northeast division. While the Senators score more goals on average -  in all categories - the Bruins have better defence and a an edge in the PK.

The good news for the Senators in the probable return of Mike Fisher who was out for a few games with an undisclosed upper body injury. I'm not sure what it is, but "upper body" usually means "back", so I hope he's up for a tough game. Tonight's tilt also marks the return of Erik Karlsson to the lineup. With tonight's game, this season will effectively count for a year on Karlsson's contract. I hope he's up for the challenge. Karlsson was very effective with the Bingo Sens scoring 11 points in 12 games.

Bad news is that Anton Volchenkov is still out, missing his 13th game due to an elbow injury. Volchenkov plays a rough and tumble game, and it's best he should come back when he's 100 percent. Golaie Brian Elliott gets his third start in a row and has been solid, improving his numbers every game.

At the other end of the ice, the Bruins will have to do without the services of Milan Lucic who twisted his ankle during the Bruins loss to the Devils on Friday. Tonight also marks the return of Sens killer Tim Thomas in nets for the Boston squad. Thomas had been out for the last five games with an undisclosed injury. I hope this means there's a little rust in the system and that he'll be "merely human" tonight.

GO SENS GO!
