Referee Dave Jackson got taken out of the game last night when a trip from Filip Kuba sent Blue Jackets captain Rick Nash careening into Jackson who crumpled to the ice. It looks like Nash may have arrived skates first and bowled into Jackson at the knee, which was locked at the time. The knee folded up on Jackson. Too bad it wasn't Kerry Fraser...



But I jest. I hate seeing any kind of injuries on the ice, especially this kind of injury which is of a type that can be career-ending. And today's game needs two refs, the calls were spotty and uneven after Jackson's departure. Remaining ref Frederick L'Écuyer did his best, but he was one pair of eyes only.
