Rumours are flying that Chicago Blackhawk blueliner Cam Barker may be on his way to Ottawa in exchange for Ryan Shannon and Alexandre Picard. The Hawks have some cap issues and would love to unload some of it. The deal may also involve draft picks. Rumour further has it that Picard and Shannon could immediately be placed on waivers.

These rumours go along with the ones seeing Barker going to Toronto instead, in exchange for Tomas Kaberle, or to Montreal for an as yet undisclosed player/draft pick. Braker is a third pairing D-man with a 3-year $9.25 million contract
