Something struck me early on in the game against Philly last night. The Senators were attacking as usual, yet as soon as the Flyers got control of the puck in their defensive zone, the Senators would go on the defensive and fold back to the neutral zone.



This seemed very un-Senators like, but... oddly familiar. What was it, what was it??? Then it hit me! Oh my God that's the Craig Hartsburg system!! And guess what? It didn't work back then, and it still doesn't work today. Listen guys, just because I worte about Craig yesterday doesn't mean you have to bring back those bad old days.

Message to coach Cory Clouston. Your boys are attackers. Your D used to be fairly soft, but it's not quite as soft anymore. Let the boys off the leash. If they get sidestepped, so be it. To quote Shakespeare: "Cry 'Havoc!', and let slip the dogs of war" (and you thought there would be no erudition in this blog).
