When "Satan's Wallpaper" comes to town...
There are some really weird nicknames in the goalie legions of the NHL. Just look at legends Ken "Thieving Giraffe" Dryden, or Lorne "Gump" Worsley. But Martin "Satan's Wallpaper" Brodeur? Granted, likely one of his lesser known monikers, but still.

Martin Brodeur or a reasonable facsimile thereof.
Brodeur has been highly efficient in nursing along the injured New Jersey Devils who are lacking blueliners Paul Martin and Johnny Oduya, as well as forwards Jay Pandolfo and Rob Niedermayer. Although the Devils played last night, Brodeur is well rested, having had the night off against the Islanders on Friday. The Devils are still unbeaten on the road (7-0), and Brodeur is a single shutout away from matching the great Terry Sawchuk's record of 103 regular season shutouts set 40 years ago.
The Senators, meanwhile, will be looking to Pascal Leclaire to match Brodeur's performance, not always an easy task. The Senators are lacking only the services of Anton Volchenkov. Jesse Winchester, recalled from Binghamton where he was on a conditioning stint, is back in the roster for tonight. I'm looking for Jason Spezza to score some more now that he has finally found the back of the net. Daniel Alfredsson remains hot and is creeping up on a point-per-game NHL careeer.
The Senators have not won a game against the Devils since I can't remember when, and it would be great to finally get one at home against the New Jersey crew, and put a halt to their record seeking. But it'll take some work, and staying out of the penalty box.
