One for the record books

The games between the Preds and the Sens last night will go in the NHL record books as the game where the most goals were score by defensemen. Eight of the eleven goals scored, were netted by blueliners.

Chris Phillips celebrates his goal with 1.6 seconds left in the game.

Shea Weber and Ryan Suter contributed 2 each while Cody Franson netted one for the Preds. On the Ottawa side, Anton Volchenkov, Chris Phillips, and Chris Campoli scored one each. The previous record of seven goals by D-men dates back to a Rangers-Capitals game in December of 1992.
